Amot’s corporate responsibility (CSR) includes striving to integrate the “sustainability” principle in the operation of the company’s assets and in the construction of new assets. In the environmental context, emphasis is placed on the prudent use of depletable natural resources and energy savings in order to minimize harm to nature and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Achieving these goals is also pursued by striving to reduce waste quantities and recycling, as well as saving on electricity and water consumption in the company’s assets. The company’s development projects are designed as green buildings with the aim of providing the building’s residents with a higher quality of life and a healthier work environment while minimizing environmental impact during the construction process and throughout the many years the building will be in operation.

“Green construction” is multidisciplinary and requires close management and guidance of the project’sdesign and consulting team by an expert subject matter consultant. Within the framework of green planning, emphasis is placed on climate analysis, energy savings, natural lighting, radiation reduction, environmental conservation, water savings, waste sorting for recycling, air quality, acoustic insulation, encouraging the use of bicycles, environmentally friendly building materials, and more.

Within the framework of the planning, topics as follows are taken into consideration:

• Examining the possibility of optimal utilization of natural resources such as land and sunlight.
• Collecting and using rainwater or alternatively channeling it to landscaped open areas.
• Waste recycling – planning waste rooms that allow for waste sorting for recycling.
• Transportation – use of electric vehicles and/or bicycles near the building, allocation of bicycle parking, and showers for cyclists’ use.
• Gardening in planters detached from the ground to prevent the loss of irrigation water.
• Establishing energy and maintenance centers (air conditioning, electricity, electric vehicle charging stations, waste recycling, building control systems, separation and collection of gray water, and more).
• Use of suitable recyclable or recycled materials.
